"Within my 27 years of Winemaking, I have never had the opportunity to create a Botrytis Affected wine..." - Fred Di Profio, our Head Winemaker.
Speaking to its rarity, when conditions are exactly right, misty, cool mornings followed by warm, sunny afternoons, this specific Botrytis Affected fungus settles on the grapes. Instead of destroying the fruit (which would be "grey rot"), it creates a rare fermentation known as Noble Rot. The fungus punctures the skin of the grape, which allows water to evaporate. This process concentrates the sugar and acidity naturally and completely transforms the flavours.
This extremely limited wine is a special one within the Bella Terra portfolio. On the nose, expect organic and sweet notes of beeswax and wildflower honey. You’ll likely find a distinct minerality beneath the sweetness. When paired with dessert, the wine’s alcohol provides body, while the acidity actually helps lift the aromatic profile.
As Fred, our Winemaker, expressed, this truly is a once-in-a-lifetime wine, and we're proud to share it with you.
95 points, Wines in Niagara | Rick VanSickle: " The grapes for this sweet treat were 100% botrytised (noble rot). The grapes were hand harvested, whole cluster pressed, settled racked and underwent wild fermentation. It was picked at 28.6 Brix. What a lovely, sweet treat! It already shows a more golden colour in the glass with notes of lemon curd, yellow apples, dried apricots, pie crust, marzipan, grilled pineapple, ginger and wild honey notes. It’s rich and viscous on the palate with exotic ripe fruits, golden apples, candied lemon peel, wild honey, marmalade, ginger and a sweetness that is perfectly balanced by racy acidity. It has a finish that lasts for minutes. Such a rare treat that can age through 2037 or beyond but is irresistible right now."

Not good quality
Did not stand up to the Border Collie test. Destroyed in less than 2 weeks.

Poor durability
My 15lb dog destroyed this within a couple hours. He is small but a might chewer. Not chew proof. The end pieces came off easily which could be a choking hazard. He loved it, the idea is good, but it did not last. If you get it, supervise your dog, only allow for short "teeth brushing" chew time.

Great quality & interest
Keeps my Shepard/Husky occupied for 30+ minutes. She hasn't even destroyed it.

Good for medium and large dogs not good for small dogs
Too big for dogs under 15 pounds. Treats are hard to get out of the four corners. My dog can barely pick this up. She weighs 12 pounds. She still found it interesting though trying to dig the treats out that she was unsuccessful. Even after I cut all the little triangle prongs off the four corners the treats are still stuck in there. There is a slot on the side that I can put half of a dental refill in the side and she can eventually get it out so there’s still somewhat of play and challenge received, but not that satisfied to me.

Great for aggressive chewers!
Size: Jumbo, Style: Peanut Butter
I have a very very aggressive chewer. She is a Rottweiler/Pitbull mix. Most toys she completely destroys within 2 days, sometimes 2 hours. I must praise this toy as she has had it for over 5 months and has not destroyed it! She loves chewing the ends and carries in her mouth squeaking it as she goes. I have 4 pups and they all take turns chewing when they can. I will be buying more Playology dog toys in the future.
Thank you for making such a great toy!!
