The making of a copper bell is a labour-intensive process that requires a high level of skill and attention to detail. From selecting the right materials to the final tuning and decoration, each step is crucial in creating a bell that is not only beautiful but also produces a clear and resonant sound. The copper is covered with Zinc powder to be fused together and put into a heated in a furnace until it reaches its melting point, around 1,984°F (1,085°C). Cold water is poured onto it for the copper to be removed from mold.
Copper is naturally durable and does not rust, making this piece both beautiful and long-lasting.
