Mesquite Block M-1145 2" x 2" x 24" 2.7 lbs. This is a hefty 2" x 2" Mesquite spindle. The overall color is the warm reddish brown of Mesquite heartwood. We've cut a number of these spindles, and the grain pattern and characteristics vary from piece to piece. We take photos of each individual piece, so please look carefully to inspect the piece you are choosing. Mesquite characteristically has wavy grain with occasional knots. Some of these pieces will have cracks, either ones that formed during growth (age-blackened) or during processing -- you can treat these with CA glue or fill with epoxy. Or you can cross-cut the spindles to avoid them entirely. There are also patches of bark and wane on some of these spindles, so please review to make sure you are OK with any complexity. The bark is beautiful and can be preserved in the finished turning, if you wish -- best to secure it with CA glue. Some of these pieces have scuff marks from our sawblades or a bit of surface discoloration (Anchor Seal) that will sand or turn off as you work the piece. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried blank, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying. It was heat-treated to kill off any hungry critters that may have been burrowing inside. It was measured at 25% MC in May 2022. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. Mesquite is beautiful wood, and we are sure you will enjoy it! About the Tree This Texas-grown Honey Mesquite tree was harvested in El Campo, Texas in March of 2022. It was cut down by the city for reasons unknown to us, and we were happy to help save the tree from a burn pile. It is possible that this tree was damaged by the Valentine's Day Freeze that Texas suffered in February 2021, which is when our state lost a lot of beautiful trees in an unusually deep and long freeze. You can feel good about this American-grown hardwood being responsibly harvested and turned into beautiful art by YOU. The tree was in healthy growing condition, with a minimum of bug damage and a nice healthy girth to the trunk. There is some minor evidence of fire damage, perhaps from a campfire, near the base of the tree on one side. It may have been in a fairly protected area such as a city park, as the Mesquite is less twisted and gnarly than trees grown in open pastures. The grain looks generally long and straight and of excellent quality for green or dried turning. |

Ipad works great, easy to set up and everything transferred from the cloud from a backup I had (thank god because my other ipad is completely dead). Everything is in order except they put the magnets in the wrong spot xD. It doesnt matter functionality wise and I feel its more hassle to exchange than its worth so I am going to keep the iPad. With the case its in it doesnt really matter because theres a spot already for the pen.

This case is very nice and feels sturdy. The color is accurate to the photos, and the print layout looks great. It includes a side pocket that can hold some paperwork, and the material feels durable. The magnetic closure works well and closes securely. I’m not completely sure about the strap yet, but there is a designated spot for the pencil, which snaps in well and stays secure. Overall, the cover fits nicely and provides very good protection for the tablet.

Functional and great protection!

Very nice case. Love the color. Case is exactly what I was looking for, it protects the iPad all around, corners and sides aren’t exposed. Pencil case is very convenient. Magnetic flip closure secures the case. It is a little heavier but that’s to be expected with it being PU leather and having a magnetic lock. I like the stand with different viewing angles as opposed to a case with a small trifold stand. Outside pocket is good for keeping papers you need to reference while working. Very compatible with my lifestyle. Great case for the money.

I love the design of this iPad case!

This iPad case is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time! I love the design and the quality of this product. It has the feel of genuine leather and the stitching around the edges is very tight with no loose threads. A magnetic flap holds the iPad cover firmly closed when not in use, and at the same time can hold the cover open when the front cover is folded back behind the iPad case. An elastic strap on the inside front cover aids in holding the device with one hand when the front cover is folded back. It doesn't matter whether you are left-handed or right-handed; it will work either way. Just turn the iPad upside down if you want to hold it in your right hand with your hand through the elastic strap. The power button at the top of the iPad is easily accessible through a precisely positioned slot in the TPU back shell, as is access to the USB-C port at the bottom of the iPad. There are also holes in the top and bottom of the TPU back shell for the speakers. The two volume buttons on the right side of the TPU back shell interact well with the volume buttons on the iPad itself. There is also a place on the right side of the TPU back shell to securely hold a Pencil 1st Generation (Apple or non-Apple brand), and it is easy to remove when needed. A pocket in the cover is a perfect place to put a small microfiber cloth so that you can periodically clean the glass of your iPad. This iPad case is going to last a long time!
