Porcellio scaber

Porcellio scaber is a hardy, medium sized isopod known for its vibrant orange coloration and rugged texture. Popular in bioactive reptile and amphibian enclosures, this morph is both functional and visually appealing. They are excellent at breaking down organic waste, including feces, shed skin, and decaying plant matter, helping to maintain cleanliness and soil health. Their size and activity level make them ideal for medium to large enclosures and compatible with a variety of reptiles such as geckos, skinks, and smaller snakes. Unlike more reclusive species, scabers are often visible on the surface, making them a lively addition to display setups while still serving an important cleanup role.

These isopods are medium to large sized and more rare than the traditional white dwarfs. They are very efficient creatures and culture well together. They have the ability to tolerate slightly drier conditions.

Each culture has approximately 15-20 mixed size isopods included, with food, and are considered a medium to large sized isopod.
