Remi Verwimp (1945-2009) was meer dan dertig jaar een stuwende kracht in de kritische christelijke basisbeweging in Vlaanderen. Als priester en agogisch theoloog ontwikkeld hij in groepen opmerkelijke visies omtrent maatschappelijke thema's zoals de democratisering van de kerk, verrechtsing en islamofobie, de relatie christendom en marxisme, actief pluralisme, het religieuze karakter van het kapitalisme, secularisering en het belang van levensbeschouwelijke herbronning in de (christelijke) sociale bewegingen. Als emancipatorisch vormingswerker smeedde hij bondgenootschappen tussen linkse christenen, moslims, joden, marxisten en vrijzinnigen. Remi Verwimp werd bewogen door de kracht van tegendraadse verhalen uit de Thora en de Bijbel en zocht naar verbindingen met de Koran. Hij was ervan overtuigd dat deze levensbeschouwelijke bronnen nog steeds een onmisbare kritische stem in het actuele maatschappelijke debat kunnen doen opklinken.

Great content, horrible formatting

I am only a quarter way through the book and can see it is excellent in terms of content - the kind of book that makes the reader quite angry at the way things have been done behind the scenes (much like Patel's "Government Gangsters" and "Kennnedy's "The Real Anthony Fauci").
However, a warning to those who get the Kindle version - it is formatted horribly. After having read dozens of books on my iPad mini using the Kindle app over the years, this is the first bok where hyphens are in words that do not break on line endings, which seems minor but after a few dozen instances gets really annoying. I hope some AI reads these reviews and sends a note to whoever edited this thing (or converted it to an e-book) to rectify this stupid situation.
