De herkomst van de wijn is gelegen in de Minervois, een gebied dat bekend staat om zijn mediterrane klimaat en de invloed van de nabijgelegen zee. De wijngaarden bevinden zich op een gevarieerd terroir met verschillende bodemsoorten, waaronder kalksteen, klei en keien, die de wijn een unieke en complexe smaak geven. Wanneer de druiven optimaal rijp zijn worden ze volledig met de hand geoogst waarbij ze zorgvuldig worden geselecteerd en gesorteerd. Vervolgens ondergaan de druiven een traditionele vinificatie, waarbij licht overpompen aan het begin van de alcoholische gisting plaatsvindt, gevolgd door vatting voor een periode van één maand. Tijdens dit proces worden de druiven zorgvuldig gefermenteerd bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur, om de optimale extractie van kleur en aroma's te bevorderen. Na de alcoholische gisting wordt de wijn overgebracht naar vaten, waar het vervolgens 6 maanden rijpt op fijne droesem. Deze periode van rijping zorgt voor een verdere ontwikkeling van de complexe smaakprofielen van de wijn en voegt ook een zijdezachte textuur toe.De geur en smaak van Calmel & Joseph Les Freres d Armes Minervois
Calmel & Joseph Les Freres d'Armes Minervois is een wijn met een zeer diepe paarsrode kleur. De neus is vol en rijk met rijpe tonen van zwart fruit, in balans gehouden door een mooie mineraliteit. De smaak is krachtig, rond, delicaat en tegelijkertijd krachtig, wat resulteert in een prachtige harmonie. De nadruk ligt op de rode vruchten, die zorgen voor een frisse afdronk met een vleugje zoethout, wat zorgt voor een gastronomische spanning. An essential classic
Format: Paperback
The book has a scathing view of nobility and the upper class, with the regular people just a part of the scenery, so an allegory that has aged well and applies to modern times. I think it's an essential read to anyone who enjoys literature, as it can be argued that it's the genesis of many themes in modern stories.

Not bad, but still had flaws
Format: Paperback
While the novel was great in a way, I felt that it was outdated to me. It was written in the time that anti-heros were poorly made and if the creator of Reynard was aiming for Anti-hero when developing Reynard, he missed and hit sociopath instad. The pictures in the books are also outdated and laughable in our times. Reynard looks more like a shaved dog on the cover, I had a hard time identifying Noble the lion in his photos, ect. and the ending did`nt seem fullfilling though I felt a kick of excitment a few times.

Nice translation
Format: Paperback
It is not easy to translate poetry into poetry. It's bad enough simply trying to translate to prose. Ms. Terry does an excellent job. I read Le Roman de Renart in French while I was studying in France. Years later, I came across this translation.
It is fascinating the way the original storytellers portrayed Renart. He is a completely hateful creature. Yet reading about him is fun. It's similar to how I feel about stories of Loki or Coyote. Renart is closer to Loki than to Coyote, despite the canine ancestry. He is more than simply a trickster: he is malevolent.
If you have an interest in ancient folktales, you mustn't miss the story of Renart. This translation is different from any other I've read. The introduction gives a good perspective on the times when the stories were hatched.
