What Do I Need to Install Window?

How Do I Remove an Existing OEM Window?

If you are replacing an existing factory window, you may want to take your van to a professional for removal. If you're removing the factory window yourself, the best tool to use is a wire cutter set. Once the window has been cut out, you will need to remove as much of the original urethane as possible. We recommend using a general purpose solvent or adhesive cleaner such as Acetone, Goo-Gone or WD-40. Be sure to clean the area with soap and water or rubbing alcohol prior to applying the primer and urethane.

How Do I Cut a Hole in a Van Without Factory Windows?

The Ford Transit sliding passenger side door window, utilizes the factory metal stamping on the interior of the van. You will notice an area where the inner metal ends (see photo for clarification). You will cut right along that edge to cut a hole for your window. Your van may have multiple upright columns that are welded to the sheet metal; just cut these out as you make your opening.

You will need one of the following tools: Body Saw, Air Saw, One-Handed Reciprocating Saw, to cut the hole in your van's sliding door. Cut from the inside of your van without a template, or create a template to mirror the interior stamping on the the outside of the door.

Drill a hole with a bit large enough to accommodate the blade of your cutting tool. Drill within the single sheet metal section that will be cut out. Then work your blade down to the OEM stamp line. Follow the stamp line all the way around to produce your window's cut hole. (Any interior supports in the window sections can be cut out as they are unnecessary).

TIP: Cut sides and bottom first leaving the top cut for last so the sheet metal does not start bending while cutting.

Once your hole has been cut, file any rough edges or high points to smooth the cut line. You may want to prime the raw edge of metal prior to installing edge molding. While this is not a necessary step, it's easy and offers additional protection from rust.

Window edge molding is not necessary for the installation of the window, but it will create a finished look on the interior of the van. If your interior wall panelling will be covering the cut edge there is no need to trim the window as it will be hidden.

How Do I Apply the Primer and Urethane?

Apply the urethane primer to the outside of the body. One line is al that's needed and only on the van wall. After you have painted your primer line around your cut hole allow primer to dry for about 10 minutes.

We recommend starting a few inches down from the top rear corner of the window to avoid having a leaking joint from one tube to the next on the top or front of the window. When applying urethane bead consistency is key to a great install thicker and thinner spots can lead to leakage.

How Do I Install The Window?

Having two people for the window install helps a lot; one person holds the front bottom corner, the other holds the rear bottom corner. OEM fit windows will have about a 1/4" gap from body line to glass. Line up bottom edge holding top of glass away from wall at a slight angle ( / ). Once you have your gap lined up at bottom, and front and rear edges, window up and press into the urethane. No need to push too hard as the urethane has a very strong adhesion to grab the window quickly. Once window is in desired location, use securing tape at each corner to keep glass in place. Let window set for at least 3 hours before driving van.

Don't wash van for at least 3 days after installation. Some car wash soaps contain alcohol which can deteriorate the urethane seal before setting.

A sports romance debut that tugs on heartstrings!
Format: Kindle
“Unsteady” follows hockey captain Rhys Koteskiy and spitfire figure skater Sadie Brown after they enter a purely physical relationship to help them heal from their respective traumas. Their arrangement is meant to be temporary, but the more time they spend together, the harder they begin to fall. I had been wanting to read this book for quite some time and was not expecting it to get me all up in my feels! Both characters have their own struggles that the other comforts them through. At the novel’s start, Rhys is recovering from a traumatic brain injury he suffered on the ice. I appreciated how seriously Sadie took Rhys’ situation and helped him through his panic attacks (mainly with music) while fighting her own demons. Despite the walls she puts up to distance herself from him, Rhys sees through her anger. He stole my heart with how in tune he became to Sadie’s needs and the way he stepped in to take care of her and her brothers after he learned of their living situation. The pining and protectiveness had me swooning. While the friends with benefits trope isn’t my favorite, I adored watching their relationship transform from one of shared trauma to shared love. Their opposite personalities truly complement each other perfectly!

AMAZING Debut Hockey Romance!
T R O P E S 🏒 College Hockey/Figure Skating Romance 🏒 Cinnamon Roll MMC/Black Cat FMC 🏒 He Falls First 🏒 Friends to Friends With Benefits to Lovers 🏒 Found Family 🏒 Mental Health Rep R E V I E W I’m sorry. Excuse me. WHAT? How is this Peyton’s debut novel?! This book had NO BUSINESS being this good. IMMEDIATELY it is in the top 5 books I’ve read this year, and I’ve read nearly 125 books. I was blown away by how good this was and cannot recommend it enough. This book follows Sadie, a figure skater who has a hard home life but is determined to succeed this year, and Rhys, the captain of the hockey team who took a hard hit in last year’s Frozen Four and is now struggling with getting back on the ice. These two are some of the BEST MCs I’ve read in a while! Sadie has so much going on, between her skating career, working 3 jobs, trying to get custody of her two younger brothers from their alcoholic dad, and school in general, this girl is stretched thin, but she is a power house - small but mighty. I loved her spitfire character! She is so guarded, but understandably so. I loved seeing her icy exterior melt for Rhys. And RHYS. I think he might be my favorite Rhys to date 👀 . He is the perfect Cinnamon Roll, but he’s also going through PTSD from a terrible hit and struggling. He becomes so obsessed with her and honestly, I’m a little jealous. (Let’s not forget about the mouth on this man though 🥵 .) I LOVED them as a pair and the angst and tension between them was spectacular! I love how they pushed each other and how well they matched. The spice between them was perfection as well! This was such a good blend of character development, plot, and spice. I also have to discuss the amazing side characters. First of all, Sadie’s brothers are the stars of this show. Liam was the cutest thing on this planet and I just wanted to give Oliver a hug (but won’t because he doesn’t want to be touched). The way Rhys interacts with them and the whole storyline with them made me bawl. It was soooo good. Then we have Rhys’ family! His parents are magnificent and I need to know more about their story! And lastly, we cannot forget Rhys’ team. I cannot wait for more books about each and every one of them. They were all introduced so well and I KNOW there are going to be some fantastic stories told about them. I’m going to need this to be a series with all of the hockey teammates (Toren and Bennett both have me eyeing them up and I needed their books YESTERDAY). I’m also going to need a prequel novel about Rhys’ parents AND a next gen spinoff with Sadie’s younger brothers. This book is going to be a trophy I buy for my shelf so I can reread it and I will definitely be reading anything and everything Peyton writes in the future! The mental health rep in this book was chefs kiss. We saw them both struggling with their thoughts and emotions, saw them using each other for comfort, and saw them both getting true help. I loved that Rhys recognized he was using her as a crutch and sought therapy. We need more mental health rep that is done like this! Honestly, I cannot recommend this book enough. It had me laughing, blushing, and full on crying so many times. There was so much emotion, care, and love packed into this book. BRAVO Peyton on writing such a magnificent debut novel!

Love. Such a beautiful story!
Format: Kindle
Rhys and Sadie Gray meet at a point in their lives where they really need each other. Their initial impressions of each other are not that great and they start off on the wrong skates. These two are both struggling with their own issues and each carries their own stress differently. Rhys struggles with the aftermath of a traumatic injury while playing hockey. Sadie struggles with the weight of responsibility. Their story is not unique, but in this genre it's the first time I've read a story like this and it did not disappoint. It's such a beautiful story about love and staying steadfast in your conviction to stand by the person you love even when they don't think they deserve it and push back. The love Rhys has is unmatched and it reminded me of Johnny from Boys of Tommen. The author did an incredible job and I can't wait to read more from her.

Unsteady Review
Format: Kindle
This was my first book by the author and it did not disappoint. I loved how real and relatable the main characters were. From the mental health journeys they go on, and the things they deal with in their life. I felt like I could be their friend. I didn't want this book to end it was so good. It made me feel all the things: happy, sad, it made me laugh. And above all the representation of friendship in this was great! Will definitely read more of the author's books!
