The artist. Born and raised in Wales, US-based artist Michael Gillette was first commissioned by Penguin Books to create a set of hardback book covers to mark the 2008 centenary of Ian Fleming's birth. He has worked with Ian Fleming Publications to create hardback editions of the original 007 adventures. 'I had the idea for something really geometric, simple, bright and bold which hadn’t been done.'
