"A page-turning book that spans a century of worker strikes.... Engrossing, character-driven, panoramic." --Zephyr Teachout, The New York Times Book Review

We live in an era of soaring corporate profits and anemic wage gains, one in which low-paid jobs and blighted blue-collar communities have become a common feature of our nation's landscape. Behind these trends lies a little-discussed problem: the decades-long decline in worker power.

Award-winning journalist and author Steven Greenhouse guides us through the key episodes and trends in history that are essential to understanding some of our nation's most pressing problems, including increased income inequality, declining social mobility, and the concentration of political power in the hands of the wealthy few. He exposes the modern labor landscape with the stories of dozens of American workers, from GM employees to Uber drivers to underpaid schoolteachers. Their fight to take power back is crucial for America's future, and Greenhouse proposes concrete, feasible ways in which workers' collective power can be--and is being--rekindled and reimagined in the twenty-first century.

Beaten Down, Worked Up
is a stirring and essential look at labor in America, poised as it is between the tumultuous struggles of the past and the vital, hopeful struggles ahead.

Great sunscreen, but too pricey!
Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I love COOLA products. They are a good substitute for my favorite sunscreens by Bare Republic - which was discontinued. Unfortunately COOLA products are very pricey. For that reason, I must use other brands where it makes sense. Trader Joe's spray sunscreen works very well and is $5.99. Coppertone Water Babies works for water sports. I'm saving my $28 COOLA lotion sunscreen for when I need a non greasy odor-free sunscreen, for example when I spend time in the sun followed by lunch out or shopping.

Would recommend this sunblock!
Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Loved this sunblock for my stay abroad in the Caribbean. Left no white cast, and barely had any sunblock smell. Felt like a lotion if anything, and best of all, I didn't get burned! Would recommend.

Great product for south Florida resident.
I LOVE this sunscreen so much! I have tried so many different sunscreens and they always leave me greasy and shiny in a few hours time. I live in south Florida and I know the importance of protecting my skin especially my face against the harsh sunlight. This sunscreen feels light and mousterizes my skin without leaving it greasy and oily. The light cucumber scent is absoluteltly lovely but in no way overpowering. It goes great under my makeup and doesn't have the sunscreen heavy feeling that I despise. It's a little pricey but I do plan on buying again when I run out. P.S my boyfriend also occasionally uses this moisturizer and he also enjoys it and says it feels like great quality stuff.

Organic face lotion and sunscreen in ONE!
I had been looking all over for an organic face lotion and sunscreen and was having a hard time. I tried several that left a white residue on my face and then I found this one. It has a nice, light, relatively thin consistently that absorbs very easily, without any residue or caking. I have tried both the unscented and the cucumber and I like both. I find the cucumber scent refreshing and not overwhelming- although I know others didn't like it. I think the 1.7 oz last about 3-4 months, which was awesome! And it is small enough to travel with on a plane! This is a fantastic product! I only wish it didn't cost so much!
