Notes

This publication completes the entire oeuvre of cello sonatas composed and published in London by Emanuel Siprutini between 1756 and 1774 as Op. I, III, V, VI, and VII. Born in Holland or Portugal to the Jewish family of Shiprut, he came to England following the Jewish naturalization act enacted in 1753 by King George II of England, settling in London as a wine merchant, concert pianist, and cello teacher. Among the scant information about him are those reported in the letters of Leopold Mozart, who met him in London in 1764 during his stay with his prodigious son, still a child; among his students was John Crosdill, the most celebrated English cellist of the eighteenth century.

Born in Holland or Portugal into the Jewish family of Shiprut, he came to England following the “Jewish naturalization act” established in 1753 by King George II of England, settling in London as a wine merchant, virtuoso cellist and cello teacher. John Crosdill, the most famous English cellist of the eighteenth century, was Siprutini's student until his debut as a concert performer.

Fun, but fragile
Format: Hardcover
This is a cool book, and my 2.5 year old son LOVES it. However it is important to note that it will be destroyed very quickly. There are lots of flaps and moving parts and it is very easy to accidentally rip them off if you try to move one in a way it's not meant for. I ripped more than 1 myself.

Great for training
Format: Hardcover
I order these for new salespeople and managers who have no construction experience. They think it's a joke until they start going through it.

The Darkness Creates Monsters
Format: Paperback
I really like this dark fantasy comic series. A long time ago, the world turned into darkness. The sun did not shine any more, and anybody who was in the dark for too long turned into a monster. Humans still survive. They drive around and live. The monsters are afraid of light. The artwork is really really good. Monsters and humans are drawn with excellent detail. You can actually see what's going on. The fight scenes are easy to understand. Can't wait to read Volume 2.

Excellent
Format: Paperback
This was one of my favorites. It has great world-building, great characters, an interesting worthy antagonist, and great art. The narrative flows naturally with a good mix of action and character development. We know who everyone is, what they're trying to accomplish, and what the stakes are. We're engaged with it never spins its wheels. I'm a reader, not a collector of singles, so I'm looking forward to vol 2.
