It also lays the foundation for future work in mathematics and language, as children learn words such as ‘height’ and ‘diameter’,
it encourages children to compare, organise, count, measure.
What is amazing about this material is that this Montessori material indirectly prepares children for writing, as they begin coordinating their fingers in a pincer grip, which is used later for holding pencils.
The puzzle is comprised of 10 different cylinders with ‘knobs’ used to hold each object using the pincer grip.
There are four different variations of the cylinders.
1. : varies on height and diameter, ie. the tallest cylinder also has the widest diameter.
2. : variation is based on the diameter of each hole.
3. : varies on height and diameter, ie. the tallest cylinder also has the thinnest diameter.
4. : variation is based on the height of the cylinders.
Children are recommended to begin working with the Knobbed Cylinders from the age of three years old.

Go Read Art Smith or Charles Wright
Format: Paperback
This book is clearly the case of someone steeped in a lyric tradition, but, rather than engaging in the self-reflexive structure of the tradition, is interested in describing ad nauseum, his southern experience. While there are moments in the book that tend toward the sublime, it rests largely as self-indulgent in a way antithetical to the form it chooses.

Incredibly Prescient -- Touches On The Major Trends Of Our Times

I was blown away by the fact that the author started writing this book a couple of years ago, before artificial intelligence was in the news, and before the topic and trend of loneliness became so prevalent. The clairvoyance is uncanny and the storyline, while fictional, is totally believable given what's going on in our world today. This is why the novel almost reads like nonfiction, but the plotline carries you forward like a fictional thriller. I audibly gasped, "Holy crap" during the plot twist at the end of the book. Truly a work of art, there is no doubt that this will be adapted for either a movie or a series.

Compelling story, beautifully written

Loneliness & Company was a fantastic read. In a truly novel take and an incredibly fun read, Charlee Dyroff confronts both the growing endemic of loneliness and the looming threat of AI, pushing us subtly to think deeply and thoughtfully about the implications of both. More than that though, Loneliness & Company is beautifully written, populated by great characters and is driven forward with a compelling, narrative. Its the first book in a very long while that I couldn't wait to get back to. Definitely would give this my strongest recommendation.
